Pearl EastRenewable Energy
Pearl East Innovation Campus is an 11 building, 485,000 square foot life science and office campus located in Boulder, Colorado. In 2022, Beacon partnered with a third-party solar developer to design, install, and operate solar panels across the Pearl East campus.
The solar installation will consist of 11 carports, covering 284 outdoor parking spaces, and 5 rooftop systems. With completion scheduled for early 2025, the installation is expected to produce 1.78 million kWh/year, reducing the campus GHG emissions by 1,150 tonnes per year.
1.8M kWh/year of on-site renewable energy production
1,150 tonnes/year of reduced GHG emissions
The solar installation will generate electricity for internal use, aligning with the City of Boulder’s permit requirements for renewable energy in new tenant space buildouts. These planned systems aim to supply about 35% of the property’s electricity needs at 80% occupancy, resulting in a significant reduction—by a similar percentage—in both GHG emissions and the overall carbon footprint.
